I’m a simple, unassuming father and husband living in a quaint, cozy, house in a suburb of LA County. Currently, I am working as a Data Analyst for a company that provides educational products for children. I watch way too much TV. My five favorite TV Shows in no particular order are: The Wire, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m a grown man who still plays video games and is an avid professional wrestling fan. I’m also very frugal with money – which my wife redefines as me being a cheap ass. I’ve always been cheap – I literally pinch pennies and am always looking for alternative ways to save or earn a buck or two. My cheapness went into hyperdrive mode since my daughter was born.
Since I’m known as not the most talkative person around (my wife would call that an understatement), I started this blog as an outlet to express to her some of my thoughts and dreams for our family. Being an introvert has not been easy for me, as words don’t necessarily jump out of my mouth like my more outgoing wife. I also felt that by putting my words in writing, it would make me more accountable to become a better person and to continue working and learning to provide a better future for our family. Budgeting and saving money were things I never gave much thought in the past as I had a very laid back attitude and didn’t have too many worries or goals. I just assumed that everything would work out as it always had. Having a daughter completely changed that mindset.
And someday, I hope my daughter will read these words and realize how much better of a person I became since she was born.

I don’t profess to be a financial expert. I just wanted to share my personal finance journey from the perspective of a new father. The opinions on this site are mine and mine alone (as approved by my wifey). Information in this blog is for informational purposes only. Although I do hope it’s entertaining as well 🙂
